Dolly Parton Has Several Pending Posthumous Works
Parton was admitted into the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville on Aug. 21.
She pá´€ssed away four days later.
Eager to honor her legacy, Nozell said that he will personally oversee several of the late music icon’s unreleased projects.
“As the leader of the team responsible for overseeing her legacy, we will ensure the many dreams she had yet to fulfill are brought to life.
Many projects were in various stages of development.
We want to be transparent with her fans about this fact,” he said in a statement.
In the past, several posthumous albums were produced without clearance of the deceased artist or their estate.
Nozell was adamant that this will not be the case for any of Parton’s upcoming music releases.
“If you see unreleased music, products, books, experiences and campaigns launched through official Dolly Parton channels, you can have confidence in knowing that she placed her personal stamp on it,” he added.
There is no shortage of upcoming Dolly Parton projects, either.
The “Jolene” singer has new releases pending across virtually every form of media.
Chief among them are a Dolly avatar show, a Dolly Musical documentary, a Dolly biopic, a Dolly Parton docuseries, a Dolly scripted series, a Billy the Kid animated series and more to be revealed at a later date.
DOLLY: A True Original Musical will open on Broadway this winter.
Bartlett Sher, who is set to direct, said that the musical will shed light on Parton’s life and legacy.
DOLLY will open on Broadway on the late music icon’s birthday, January 19, 2027.
